Our walls tell many stories – Kuru Art Exhibition 2025

The KuruArt@!Khwa ttu exhibition brought powerful Naro oil-on-canvas works from the Kalahari all the way to the walls of our Encounters Building. Held as part of our month celebrating 30 years of democracy in South Africa, this exhibition was a moment of connection with San identity, heritage, and the enduring stories that can be told through art. 

The response to the exhibition was wonderful, with every piece finding a home; as sale proceeds went principally to the artists themselves, this was a powerful affirmation of the artists’ talents and the appetite for authentic San images in the world of contemporary African art.
