New Faces at !Khwa ttu – Welcoming our Interns

On the 21st October, !Khwa ttu welcomed a new group of bright-eyed interns to the Kabbo Academy, ready to begin their six-month journey of learning, growth, and discovery. Our fresh cohort comes from far and wide across Southern Africa: from the Kalahari near Upington and Platfontein near Kimberley in South Africa, to Tsmukwe, Mushashani and Drimiopis in Namibia, and Manu in Botswana. Each one brings with them their own stories, languages, and traditions, enriching the cultural diversity that makes !Khwa ttu so unique.

During their time with us, they will participate in our Sustainable Livelihoods Internship, gaining skills that blend traditional knowledge with modern opportunities. This will include learning experiences both on-site and beyond, from exploring the history of the West Coast Fossil Park and the rock art of the Elands Bay Caves, to visiting Cape Point Nature Reserve with the inspiring Sea Change Project team. A trip to the bustling Cape Town Waterfront will also offer new perspectives on tourism and culture.

The coming months promise to be filled with adventure, personal growth, and shared discovery. As these young San men and women learn, explore, and connect, they continue the mission of !Khwa ttu, celebrating heritage, strengthening identity, and shaping a brighter future for their communities. We wish them the very best of luck and look forward to watching their journeys unfold.
