The independent visitor - hikers, bikers, outdoor types

If travelling solo is more to your taste, we have walking and mountain bike trails to suit all tastes and levels, from hard core to easy riding.

There is a small cost to use our trails. You must become a Friend of !Khwa ttu. Sign up is simple and done at Reception.

If cycling you will need to BYOB 'Bring you own bike'.

Mountain bike trails

For the adventure cyclist we have a purpose-built 10km single-track course. There are a number of route choices, with distinguished twists, zigzags and many berms to be navigated - this is a track you will want to ride again and again.

Or you may be a rider who prefers a more gentle route along jeep tracks and gravel roads.

In any event you may well find yourself alongside herds of game, stopping for thrilling views and even taking a rest stop to explore our replica traditional San village.

Trail runners and hikers

We play nicely, so hard core trail runners and cyclists use the same trails (though rarely meet).

Whether you want to work up a sweat on a training run, or go for a gentle hike in nature, you should keep your eyes open - the chances are good that you will see zebra, eland, springbok, ostrich or a bat-eared fox on your route.
